This telephony system records audio in a single channel (mono). That is, the audio from the two parties is merged into a single channel, and there's no easy way to tell who is speaking on the call.

Will Gong be able to separate speakers from this telephony system?

For telephony systems like that record audio in a single channel, Gong will attempt to separate speakers over time.

Gong will accumulate a number of representative calls by the recorded user, and will scan them to find the common speaker.

In addition to identifying speakers on the call, Gong will attempt to break down the call into segments, each associated with a single speaker.

How to connect

Note: You must be a team admin to connect to the Zoom Phone integration.

  1. Import users to Gong and set them to record before integrating Zoom Phone in Gong.

  2. In the Gong Settings page, click Telephony systems.

  3. Click + Add telephony system.

  4. Select Zoom Phone.

  5. Click CONNECT.

  6. You are redirected to Zoom Phone.

  7. Enter your username and password, and approve.

You are directed back to Gong. Zoom Phone provides a token that Gong captures in the background.

You're now connected to the Zoom Phone API and calls will be captured. If this is the first time you've connected to Zoom Phone, Gong brings in the last three months worth of calls. If you're reconnecting to Zoom Phone, Gong brings in calls from the last sync date.
